Barclaycard Lower APR's On Charity and Football Credit Cards
Barclaycard have reduced the cost of their charity and football credit cards by lowering the annual interest rate on both the Barclaycard Premiership and Barclaycard charity credit cards from 17.9% to 14.9%.
 The cards now offer a competitive rate for their respective customers and will be warmly welcomed as consumers aim to reduce personal debt.
Both cards' offers on balance transfers and purchases are still in place and are unaffected by the rate cut. The Barclaycard Premiership credit card currently offers 12 month 0% on balance transfers, with a 2.5% handling applicable. Barclaycard's charity credit card has six month 0%offer on balance transfers and purchases.
Amer Sajed, managing director of UK cards at Barclaycard, feels the cards offer new and existing customers great value as well as being competitive. He added: "We're committed to offering our customers value for money and these new lower rates mean customers can get even better deal if they're looking for a football credit card or a charity credit card."
Both cards also offer other benefits and reasons to take out one of these cards. The Premiership credit card also offers 0% interest on Premiership and non-Premiership season tickets until the balance is repaid, making increasingly expensive season tickets more affordable for the football faithful. Whilst many clubs offer the opportunity to pay for season tickets by instalments, the majority charge interest for the privilege. Also, the whole family can benefit from the Premiership card as it offers a 10% discount at JJB Sports.
For those who are charity conscious, the charity credit card has the added benefit of donating to charity every time purchases are made with the card. The card donates £5 to charity when the cardholder makes their first purchases and subsequently goes on to donate 0.3% of all future purchases, to charity. The charities to benefit from the card are Save the Children, Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Samaritans and the Woodland Trust. All donations are split equally among the aforementioned charities.
